The scientific objectives of this project can be achieved with the existing equipment at the participating Institutions. Regarding research groups it is not considered acquiring large infrastructure for its implementation of this project.
Noteworthy the equipments of the Genomics Unit- Cantoblanco " Antonia Martin Gallardo " Scientific Park whose relationship with FIBROTEAM will let the consortium develop all of the experiments related to Genomics with its help.

This unit has different equipments for Capillary Electrophoresis, Real-time PCR and Massive Sequencing
The laboratory has a whole range of auxiliary material (conventional or gradient thermal cyclers, nucleic acid extractor, centrifugal plates, cabin ventilation and extraction flow, fluorometers and spectrophotometers, emulsification equipment , particle counters , refrigerated centrifuges , cold rooms , freezers, etc. . ) required for the development of sequencing assays , fragments analysis , real time PCR , genotyping or sequencing massive in all of its applications ( ShotGun , RNAseq , ChipSeq , target enrichment , Exome.sequencing , amplicons libraries ... )
The Unit also can use all the equipment related to the microarray platform (Robot for microarray printing , hybridization station , Genepix scanner , computer and reading hybridization staining and CodeLink Affymetrix for hybridization and staining) .
Finally, the Unit works closely with specialist companies in the data analysis ( Biomol - Informatics , Biotechvana , Era7 , Integromics , Exiqon ) to offer a comprehensive service from obtaining material analysis to the final interpretation of the results.
Regarding to the activities of interest of FIBROTEAM the Unit include the recent addition of the following services:
- The addition of a modern ultrasequencing line , which combines a high productivity rate with the analysis of complete genomes or the selection of analysis regions .
- The implementation of the pyrosequencing technology (not massive ) particularly useful for the analysis of variations in the DNA underrepresented and quantitative methylation studies.
- The new optimization analysis systems for the study of the expression profiles of microRNAs with more sensitive reagents and easy handling, and statistical analysis programs high capacity.
